Lowe & Fletcher is a traditional, 5th generation, family-owned, lock-making business that was founded in 1889. Today Lowe & Fletcher, along with Euro-Locks forms the Locking Systems Division of Lowe & Fletcher Group. Whilst the manufacture of locking systems remains at the core of their business, the Group has also diversified into Safety and Security Systems for buildings.

Forty 49 have been providing brand, website, videos, cgi animation, design and print services to the Lowe & Fletcher Group for 4 years

A brand new make over

The task:

Forty49 were appointed by L&F to update their group and divisional corporate identities. The task involved creating a new, clean, strong image, whilst retaining some of the traditional characteristics that is part of their heritage. This is carried to the divisional global website design and build we completed.

The solution:

The new branding is ready for a today’s generation of business users, but the L&F motif as well as the payoff line is a nod to their traditional values.
We pared down and modernized an overly complicated logo whilst retaining recognition for existing, loyal customers. Colours were simplified, and the L&F blue was intensified. This was then specified through a set of brand guidelines for consistency.
The new identity was developed further through the design of the website, and a new corporate brochure which became a 5-colour print process to ensure that the special brand blue achieved the effect that we agreed with the client.
